Ireland’s Competition Authority has reportedly reached an agreement with a company it was investigating by gaining a court order, the first time the Authority has done so. After investigating Double Bay Enterprises Ltd over allegations of resale price maintenance, the Authority sought a court order from the High Court, which granted the order and made the company’s commitments an order of the court. According to reports, the company agreed to allow retailers to decide their own pricing policy for the sale of a certain brand of flip-flops. The High Court granted the order under a new provision in the competition acts.
