Italy: Printing press leader to enter flexible packaging market through acquisition
Flexible print packaging manufacturer Flexotecnica, based in Italy, will be taken over by Joenig & Bauer AG, the world’s second-largest press manufacturer, as it enters the flexible packaging market. While exact prices of the exchange were not revealed, a press release said the transaction would be valued “in the high single-digit million euros.” The deal is subject to antitrust authoritative scrutiny. While the companies have decided to not disclose any further information, KBA did say that the merger would be a chance for the company to strengthen its presence in the packaging industry through Flexotecnica, whose market is based mostly in Europe with some overseas business.
