Italy’s anti-trust and competition regulator AGCM has fined the operators Telecom Italia, Vodafone Italia and Wind a total of nearly 1.5 million for adopting unfair and aggressive commercial practices in the transformation of freely available telephone services such call-back into paid services. Telecom Italia, Vodafone and Wind were fined EUR 400,000, EUR 650,000 and EUR 250,000 respectively for a number of practices that were deemed to have limited the freedom of choice of consumers.
In January the same watchdog fined the three operators and 3 Italia a total of over EUR 5 million for premium mobile services charged without user permission.
