Malaysia: Ice price hikes earn chilly reception

The Malaysia Competition Commission has reportedly served notices to 26 ice manufacturers in the nation for collectively hiking their prices, say reports.

The authority, also known as the MyCC, has ordered the companies to desist from continuing a pricing policy announced last month that resulted in simultaneous price increases. In a statement issued Tuesday, the regulator said the price-fixing could be considered cartel behavior.

The companies’ action negatively impacted competition, the regulator found.
