Norway: Court overrules Competition Authority fines

 |  February 19, 2014

Norway’s District Court announced Wednesday it has reduced a fine imposed on construction firm NCC by the nation’s Competition Authority, according to reports.

The Court decided to reduce the fine issued for anticompetitive collusion with a competitor from more than $23 million to just $6.6 million.

According to reports, the NCC had appealed the fine on the basis that there were no grounds to find the company guilty of the charges, as the case only involved a single individual from the company. NCC also emphasized that its company policy does not condone the collusive practices.
