Pakistan: Defying lobbyists, Commission wants foreign competition to enter auto market

Pakistan’s Competition Commission has released a report with striking findings that go against lobbyists’ arguments for the auto market. According to report, the Competition Commission of Pakistan has recommended that the nation open domestic markets to the import of foreign cars. According to the report, the Commission believes opening the auto industry to foreign competition will lower prices for consumers and introduce new technology. The nation’s auto market currently is controlled by three major players.
