Parliamentary Economic Committee holds hearing on fuel cartel probe

The Parliamentary Economic Committee will hold a hearing today on a probe of four fuel traders conducted by the Bulgarian competition watchdog.  The Commission on Protection of Competition had investigated the possibility of a cartel formed by Lukoil Bulgaria, Naftex Petrol, Rompetrol and OMV that engaged in price-fixing. The probe, launched in 2011, led to the discovery of mandatory discount clauses in Lukoil’s wholesale contracts.
