Switzerland: AG becomes latest to tackle forex claims

Days after Switzerland’s Competition Commission announced the launch of an investigation into eight banks over allegations of foreign exchange market rigging, reports say the nation’s attorney general is now coordinating with the Commission on the case.

    A spokesperson for the attorney general’s office released a statement announcing the case, noting that “the office of the attorney general is in contact with the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority and the Competition Commission” to investigate the claims.

    The office declined to elaborate further.

    Switzerland’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority first revealed last October that it was looking into several banks regarding the allegations, which have lead to probes across the globe, including in the US and UK.
