Switzerland: BMW fined by Switzerland for prohibiting sales to swiss customers

German company BMW Ltd has been fined SFr156 million by the Competition Commission in response to the automobile company’s prevention of direct and parallel imports into Switzerland. BMW Ltd has been ordered to amend its export ban clause in its dealers’ contracts, which prohibits dealers in the European Economic Area from selling cars to customers in Switzerland and resulted in many complaints by Swiss customers.
