U.S.: Dairy giant may get taken down by antitrust investigation

The man who created the nation’s largest milk bottler, with a reputation as the “primary architect” for dairy consolidation, is now having his legacy slowly but forcefully stripped away. Recent years have brought attention to Gregg L. Engles, CEO of Dean Foods, and the suspiciously large paychecks he has received even as stocks in Dean Foods continues to plummet. An antitrust lawsuit filed in Tennessee is now looking into the matter as Engles prepares to retire; investigations have so far suggested various antitrust violations are the cause for Engles’ large paydays.
