U.S.: DOJ official urges consistency in global antitrust efforts

Cooperation between international agencies is needed to improve enforcement of competition laws and to cut down the inconsistencies faced by businesses under antitrust scrutiny, the head of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division said Friday. At the International Bar Association’s annual competition conference in Florence, Italy, DOJ Assistant Attorney General Joseph Wayland, detailed the efforts the DOJ has undertaken to enhance its cooperation with foreign competition watchdogs.
