Gene Kimmelman, former Chief of Competition Policy of Justice Department, will direct the Internet Freedom and Human Rights Project at the foundation. The project seeks to promote democratic politics, effective governance and human rights by helping civil society organizations shape Internet policy and support the use of technology to promote freedom of expression.
Kimmelman will also serve as director of the U.S. office for Global Partners and Associates. Founded in 2005, Global Partners and Associates promotes democratic politics, effective governance and human rights around the world by developing policy and practice, and shaping the approaches of donors and governments, civil society organizations and private sector partners.
Kimmelman joined the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice on April 20, 2009, when he was appointed to serve the division as its chief counsel for Competition Policy and Intergovernmental Relations. Read more about his experience in the link below.
