UK: Bankers vent over new competition investigation

The bankers reacted yesterday when the FCA launched a competition inquire into investment and corporate banking.

Bankers described the prospect of another regulatory probe as “overkill”. They claim that their sector is already dealing with reforms.

The City watchdog said it was concerned with the way banks “bundle” together services which it sees as a disadvantage for smaller new banks.
