UK/Germany: Yogurt markets consolidate following merger

Food conglomerate Emmi announced the acquisition of yogurt brand Onken in a move to expand its dairy products business, reports say.

    Onken holds strong market presence within the UK and Germany; following the buyout, Emmi said it plans to consolidate the market in both areas.

    According to a press release, the buyout is part of Emmi’s future plans to expansion within Italy, the US, Germany and the UK.

    Financial details of the deal were not reported.
