UK: Ofcom launches investigation into “Britain’s Got Talent”

Ofcom has launched an investigation into Britain’s Got Talent following complaints about the use of a second dog during Jules O’Dwyer and Matisse’s winning routine.

    The regulator has received 1,150 complaints over the fact that it wasn’t made clear that Matisse the dog didn’t perform the tightrope walk during May 31’s final, a stunt that led him to win the competition.

    An Ofcom spokesman said: “We’ve opened an investigation to determine whether viewers of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent final, who may have paid money to vote, were misled about the competition.”
