UK: Standsted Airport finds winning bidder for $2.4B

London’s Stansted Airport has apparently found a winning bidder. Manchester Airports Group will buy the airport for nearly $2.4 billion, according to reports. Stansted was put on the market after the UK’s Competition Commission told its owner Heathrow Airport Holdings that it held too much of a dominant position in the market, forcing Heathrow to cut its ownership down to four airports. The sale of Stansted is expected to be complete by the end of next month.
