The US Department of Justice first filed the suit against online auction firm eBay, accusing the company of making non-compete agreements with software firm Intuit. The DOJ says the agreements have been made since before 2006.

In a statement, DOJ antitrust head Bill Baer said “eBay’s agreement with Intuit served no purpose but to limit competition between the two firms for employees, distorting the labor market and causing employees to lose opportunities for better jobs and higher pay.”

According to reports, eBay has agreed to not make non-poaching agreements for the next five years.
