US: C-SPAN’s win in court not the end for cable giants

Public affairs television network C-SPAN has won its defense in course after an online video subscription company, Sky Angel US LLC., sued C-SPAN alleging the network represented cable giants’ practice of anticompetitively hoarding TV programming. But according to reports, the ruling Is not a definite finale to the case as US District Judge Rudolph Contreras noted in his dismissal of the case that Sky Angel could file a new, amended complaint against C-SPAN, which Sky Angel has said it intends to do. Sky Angel had made an agreement with C-SPAN to broadcast its programming online, but C-SPAN abandoned the partnership after realizing its programming would not appear on television through Sky Angel.
