US/EU: Actavis inks 7-nation pharma sale

US-based pharmaceutical company Actavis announced last Friday it inked a deal to make divestitures across seven different nations in the EU, say reports, though the company did not disclose financial details of the sales.

    The company announced plans to sell its generic operations to Aurobindo Pharma, based in India. The businesses span across France, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Belgium and would include pharmaceutical products, marketing and dossier license rights.

    The deal, which remains subject to regulatory clearance in various jurisdictions, includes plans for Actavis to operate the units as usual until the transaction is complete.
