US: Mediacom weighs on in Cablevision, Viacom channel-tying case

Mediacom Communications Corporation issued a statement Friday regarding Cablevision’s lawsuit against Viacom for forcing the cable provider to carry unwanted channels. While Mediacom noted it did not review the specific complaints issued by Cablevision, the company has sided with the company against the tying and bundling of cable TV. In its statement the company noted the practice is “really hurting consumers” and argued that the company has made “repeated attempts” to bring the issue to the Federal Communications Commission.
