Robert W. Doyle, Jr., a founding partner of Doyle, Barlow & Mazard, PLLC and prominent member of Washington, D.C.’s antitrust community, passed away last Sunday, May 18. He was 66.
Doyle served at the Federal Trade Commission for more than two decades, according to a press release, where he served as Deputy Assistant Director for Litigation. Among his high-profile cases during that time includes the FTC’s successful move to block Staples’ acquisition of Office Depot.
His expertise of antitrust seeped into various industries including telecommunications, oil and gas, healthcare and others.

He was also a prominent member of the American Antitrust Institute’s Advisory Board and a member of the American Bar Association.
