US: Rooftop businesses claim the Cubs are violating the Sherman Antitrust Act

Two rooftop business owners in Chicago are suing the Chicago Cubs and its owner Tom Ricketts for violating a profit sharing agreement. The lawsuit claims that the Cubs are attempting to create a monopoly by fixing ticket prices and thereby violating the Sherman Antitrust Act.

    The Cubs’ Wrigley Field is currently undergoing a $575 million renovation project which includes a new video board and six advertising signs around the stadium. The rooftop owners are claiming that profit sharing agreement allows for Wrigley Field to expand its bleachers, but not to block the views from the rooftop businesses for the duration of the 20 year contract.
