Major US consumer goods company Jarden announced plans to acquire the nation’s largest scented candle maker Yankee Candle in its largest buyout yet, made for $1.75 billion.
Yankee Candle is currently controlled by private-equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners LLC. A statement was released Tuesday regarding the acquisition.

Yankee Candle was purchased by Madison Dearborn in 2007 for $1.4 billion.
