First Data Partners To Streamline Developer eCommerce App Integration

First Data and Pivotal announced today (Sept. 23) that they have partnered to enable First Data eCommerce services for Spring developers — a move that is intended to streamline the eCommerce app integration process.

This pairing is also said to make it simpler and safer for those developers to integrate payments into their apps, too. First Data and Pivotal will offer Spring developers quicker access to payment services using a part of Pivotal’s Cloud Native platform known as Pivotal Cloud Foundry. As an extension of this partnership, First Data becomes a Pivotal customer that uses that cloud platform to help deliver better services for developers to bring new products and services to market.

“At First Data, we are committed to working with the developer community to unlock the next big breakthrough in FinTech,” said Guy Chiarello, President of First Data. “We are thrilled to join with Pivotal, a major force in the developer ecosystem, as we continue to attract developer talent and deliver ongoing innovation in payments.”

Pivotal will also integrate First Data’s native service into Pivotal Cloud Foundry in order for its own customers to easily use First Data payment services at no additional cost. First Data’s Payeezy eCommerce solution is designed to deliver a seamless customer experience by providing access to more mobile payment options, security features and easier integration.

“Over the last year, Spring Boot reached over 1.6 million downloads per month, altering the industry’s pre-cloud monolithic legacy as it continues to grow,” said James Watters, General Manager and Vice President of Cloud Platform Group for Pivotal. “Through our work with market leader First Data, we expect to provide Spring and Cloud Foundry developers with the ability to manage all of their payments from one place, simplifying their day-to-day operations and making it easy to deliver seamless payment services to their customers.”
