Netherlands: Ballast Nedam in possible merger talks

Ballast Nedam is in ‘exploratory talks’ with a number of foreign firms about a merger or takeover, the construction company said on Tuesday.

    One of the potential candidates approached the Dutch firm at the end of last year and is also in talks about taking over part of the infrastructure portfolio, the Ballast Nedam statement said. The company added that the outcome of the talks is ‘uncertain’.

    ‘As indicated before, Ballast Nedam will continue to actively explore strategic options in the interest of the company and will make announcements accordingly as appropriate or necessary,’ the statement said.
