France/US: Publicis extends deadline for rival ad giant purchase

French advertising group Publicis has reportedly extended its tender offer to acquire US-based ad rival Sapient Corp.

    Reports say the deadline has been pushed to December 23.

    Publicis offered to acquire Sapient for $3.7 billion last November. Regulators in the US and Germany have already given approval for the merger, reports say.

    The takeover is part of Publicis’s redirected strategy after the company and US rival Omnicom called off their $35 billion merger earlier this year.
