An antitrust partner at Freshfields Burckhaus Deringer is reportedly in the running to take a soon-to-be open position as the firm’s global managing partner, say reports.
Antitrust lawyer Helmut Bergmann is one of two likely candidates for the leadership role, report say, as current global managing partner David Aitman prepares to step down next year.
The antitrust litigator, reports say, holds a strong background in both US and EU legal matters. He joined Freshfields from Deringer Tessin Hermann & Sedemung.
Reports say Bergmann is a top candidate along with city disputes head Chris Pugh. The firm’s senior partner role is reportedly also up for grabs.
