According to reports, the CCI received a complaint against three online retailers, including Flipkart. An unnamed senior official confirmed reports but declined the name the other two companies included in the complaint.

The CCI is now reviewing whether to investigate the matter.

The complaint stems from Flipkart’s major sale held last month, which offered steep discounts and raised concerns over unfair business practices. The backlash lead to calls for the Commerce and Industry Ministry and other regulators to take a stronger grip on the online retail market.

The CCI is reportedly mulling whether to establish new regulations aimed at increasing transparency in the e-commerce industry.
