The UK’s Serious Fraud Office announced Tuesday that it began proceedings against a former broker at Tullett Prebon Group in connection to the manipulation of the LIBOR benchmark rate.
Reports say Noel Cryan will face a charge of conspiracy to defraud, which stems from the SFO’s investigation into LIBOR manipulation. According to the watchdog, Cryan’s violations lasted from February 2009 to December 2009.
He remained an employee at Tullett Prebon until last year, according to reports.
The SFO declined to comment further on the exact allegations against the individual.
Reports say Cryan is the UK’s https://www.competitionpolicyinternational.com/uk-ex-icab-brokers-head-to-court-in-libor-case 13th former bank or brokerage employee to face criminal charges in the https://www.competitionpolicyinternational.com/the-libor-scandal-2/ LIBOR scandal, which sent shockwaves throughout the world’s largest financial institutions and lead to several investigations across the globe.
