Mexico: Competition watchdog ushers in next generation of antitrust regulation
The Mexican Federal Economic Competition Commission has announced a new initiative aimed at encouraging the nation’s youth to get involved with competition research and usher in the next generation of antitrust regulation.
The watchdog has revealed that it will hold the First COFECE Award for Economic Competition Research, which will award undergraduate students throughout Mexico for their submissions on economic competition policy.
According to COFECE, the awards are aimed at involving students in the improvement of Mexico’s competition regulation; the nation recently overhauled its antitrust regulation.
Now, the authority is looking towards the future with the awards to encourage students to enter into the competition regulation profession.
