US: FTC, health IT officials announce new partnership

The US Federal Trade Commission announced this week that it has entered into a partnership with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT in efforts to boost competition in the health IT industry.

    According to reports, the two groups will build upon findings reached at last Spring’s workshop on the topic. There, the ONC said, officials found reasons to be encouraged about the market, but also found that “health IT markets are not functioning as efficiently as they could be.”
