Enterprise software provider Micro Focus is set to acquire The Attachmate Group in a $1.2 billion merger, say reports.

Micro Focus specializes in software development and the deployment of enterprise applications. Reports say the takeover will also give Micro Focus a greater share of the IT operations management and cloud computing industries.
The companies said they expect to close the deal in November; the transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
