Now known as the Gambia Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, the watchdog held a launching ceremony last Thursday to promote its new website six years after the GCC was first established.

The regulator’s revamp follows the National Assembly’s approval of the Consumer Protection Act last April, which adds consumer protection duties to the GCCPC – a restructuring officials said lead to the website and name overhaul.

According to government officials, the new site aims to facilitate visitors’ access to the competition authority’s information as it looks to educate the public, companies and shareholders on competition policy.
