The Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice have joined forces to examine conditional pricing strategies and their effect on competition, according to reports.
The regulators are reportedly seeking comment on the agreements, which include product bundling or loyalty pricing. The authorities have scheduled a joint public workshop on the topic for next month.
”A principal goal of the workshop will be to advance the economic understanding of the potential harms and benefits of conditional pricing practices and to reexamine their treatment under the antitrust laws,” the DOJ said in a statement.
The watchdogs are accepting public comment through August 22.
