Spain: Vodafone lodges complaint over rivals’ sharing agreement

Mobile operator Vodafone has lodged a complaint with Spanish regulators over a sharing agreement made between rivals Telefonica and Yoigo, say reports.

    Vodafone issued a complaint to the National Markets and Competition Commission and confirmed to reporters that the company believes the sharing agreement results in a “co-ordination of market behavior.”

    Under the sharing agreement, Telefonica gains access to Yoigo’s 4G network, while Yoigo gains access to Telefonica’s broadband infrastructure; the deal allows Yoigo to potentially combine mobile, landline and broadband services, say reports.

    Vodafone said it first issued the complaint last August, when the agreement was first announced.
