South Africa: Construction collusion scandal grows, group calls for blacklisting

The Black Business Council in the Built Environment criticized the recent fine issued to fifteen of South Africa’s construction firms for price-fixing as a “mere slap on the wrist” and is now calling for the blacklisting of the accused firms. Reports say the group has called for those 15 firms to “be arrested and prosecuted,” and treated as criminals within South Africa. The BBCBE is reportedly seeking legal advice and exploring options to initiate a class action against the fined companies.
