US: Auto suppliers can’t escape feds in price-fixing suit

Several automotive suppliers named in a federal price-fixing suit have been denied their request to have the case dismissed. The companies, which include Lear Corp., Tokai Rika Co. and its subsidiary Tram Inc., filed motions to have the case tossed last July. Those motions have been denied, however. Dozens of companies are accused of fixing prices of wire harnesses after an investigation was conducted in 2010 by the FBI. Several companies have reportedly already pleaded guilty to the charges. The companies are being tried in Detroit in a case overseen by US District Judge Marianne Battani.
