Spain: Probe launched into Ford Motor subsidies

The European Commission has launched an investigation into Ford Motor Co.’s Spain unit and its subsidies, the regulator announced. According to reports, the watchdog is looking into whether support into the subsidies project exceeds guidelines on the use of state aid for intentions of increasing production in a struggling market. A spokesperson for Ford of Europe confirmed the Commission is focusing on the Ford Transit Connect, but assured the use of state aid did not violate European law.
