 |  March 20, 2013

While Ireland’s National Consumer Agency is set to merger with the Competition Authority later this year, the NCA has hired its new leader in a five-year contract. O’Leary signed a contract to make about $177,500 a year, about $52,000 less than Fitzgerald. The new body, a result of the Consumer and Competition Bill, will have six “members” to head the agency; O’Leary will be one of those members. Before the NCA, O’Leary was part of a project to advance consumer information and education function in the Central Bank.
