Pakistan: CCP cautious about pursuing natural gas inquiry

According to reports, the Competition Commission of Pakistan is looking into whether to pursue a case against the compressed natural gas association. The idea was initially sparked from concerns over CNG stations closing even when gas load shedding did not occur; a source says that the authority is reviewing “minute details” before officially launching an investigation. While price decisions of natural resources are controlled by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the source also said the government has made no moves to enforce the Supreme Court’s ruling to lower CNG prices.
