U.K.: Tossed case clarifies statute of limitations for antitrust damage claims

The U.K. Supreme Court’s decision to toss an attempted revival of a cartel case brings clarity to the nation’s statute of limitations for follow-on damages actions. BCL Old Co. Ltd. attempted to bring the case in efforts to seek compensation for antitrust violations committed by BASF PLC. BASF was found guilty of participating in an international vitamins cartel. BCL Old Co. argued the U.K.’s statue of limitations policy was unclear.
