Australia: Telstra will buy Adam Internet in new business strategy

Pending approval by the ACCC, Telstra has confirmed that the company plans to buy Adam Internet in a push towards a new “two brand” strategy, looking to compete with cheaper internet providers. The terms of the agreement were not made public, however sources say Telstra may have paid $60 million for Adam Internet, which has fewer than 100,000 subscribers, a move that reflects the company’s faith in smaller entities to successfully compete in the market.
