Ex-Dewey antitrust partner becomes new FCC Public Safety Chief; others to Cooley

David Turetsky, formerly the coordinator of Dewey & LeBoeuf’s Washington, DC antitrust practice group, and partner, is the new Chief of the FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau. Turetsky’s previous government experience includes his service as Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust in the DOJ, and Senior Counsel to Assistant Attorney General Anne K. Bingaman. The telecommunications industry is a particular area of expertise for Turetsky, as he was Senior Vice President for Law and Regulatory Affairs for Teligent from 1997 to 2000. He also worked with Congress to pass the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and was appointed by orders of the FCC and federal courts to serve as trustee of 20 wireless markets and Cellular One.

    Separately, two former antitrust partners at Dewey have joined Cooley LLP. Marc G. Schildkraut and Jacqueline I. Grise are now partners in the firm’s antitrust and trade regulation practice in its Washington, DC office. Schildkraut is a former Assistant Director of the FTC’s Competition Bureau. Grise worked on the Sony/BMG and InBev nv/sa/Anheuser-Busch mergers.
