Lactalis acquisition of SkÃ¥nemejerier AB gets Comm’n approval

The European Commission has approved Lactalis’ proposed acquisition of Skånemejerier AB, a Swedish dairy company. Lactalis produces and markets dairy products. After an investigation of the dairy market, with a particular focus on the supply of cream and procurement of raw milk in Sweden, the Commission found that the deal will not significantly change the market structure. There are sufficient competitors, and farmers can still sell raw milk to third parties to the same extent after the acquisition.
