The European Commission has sent Slovak Telekom and its parent Deutsche Telekom a Statement of Objections relating to its conduct in wholesale broadband markets in Slovakia. The Commission believes that Slovak Telekom may have refused to supply unbundled access to its local loops and wholesale services to competitors, which is “crucial” for new entrants. Slovak Telekom used delaying tactics and obstructed negotiations to impose unreasonable and burdensome terms on the competitors. In addition, Slovak Telecom may have imposed a margin squeeze by charging unfairly low wholesale prices.
