Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (AWG) has filed a complaint against Cadbury, Hershey, Mars, and Nestlé. The retailer-owned cooperative alleges that the manufacturers engaged in a conspiracy from 2002 and 2008 to fix prices and not to compete in the sale of chocolates. As a result, AWG was overcharged for the chocolate giants’ products. AWG is a Kansas-based corporation and buys chocolate directly from the manufacturers in Kansas. The complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas.
