The Competition Bureau has increased the pre-merger notification threshold from $73 million to $77 million. Thus when a proposed transaction will result in more than $77 million in assets in Canada, or in revenues of the target firm that are generated in or from Canada, the Competition Bureau is to be given notice.
The new threshold will be effective upon publication in the Canada Gazette Part 1.
