Charles River Associates Strengthens Antitrust Practice with Senior Appointment

Charles River Associates, an economic, financial, and management consulting firm, has announced the return of Dr. Josh Sherman as Vice President within its Antitrust & Competition Practice. According to a statement from the company, Dr. Sherman’s reappointment is expected to strengthen the firm’s capabilities in delivering economic analysis and consulting services.

    Per a statement by Paul Maleh, CRA’s President and CEO, the firm is “thrilled to welcome Josh back to our team.” Maleh highlighted Dr. Sherman’s extensive expertise across consulting, government, and academic fields, emphasizing that this breadth of experience will significantly benefit CRA’s clients.

    Margaret Sanderson, leader of the Antitrust & Competition Practice, also remarked on Dr. Sherman’s return, noting his insight into competitive market dynamics and his innovative analytical methods. She stated, according to a company statement, that his expertise “will be a tremendous asset to our clients” and expressed enthusiasm for his contributions going forward.

    Dr. Sherman brings a wealth of knowledge in antitrust litigation, providing expert testimony and economic analysis on issues ranging from single-firm conduct to complex multi-firm cases. His work focuses on evaluating the competitive effects of mergers and analyzing allegations of anticompetitive behavior using rigorous economic theory and econometrics.

    Before rejoining CRA, Dr. Sherman served as Chief Economist at the Israel Competition Authority. Per a statement, in this role, he oversaw all economic evaluations related to mergers, dominance abuses, and various competition-related matters addressed by government committees. His prior experience includes a previous tenure at CRA, where he played a key role in several major antitrust cases.

    In addition to his consulting and regulatory experience, Dr. Sherman maintains academic ties as an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and its Department of Economics. According to a statement, he previously held a faculty position at the University of Vienna’s economics department.

    CRA’s Antitrust & Competition Economics Practice is recognized for its global expertise, providing analysis and testimony in competition matters across a broad range of industries.
