CCI orders closure of case filed against Gujarat Gas Company Ltd.

The Competition Commission of India ordered closure of the cases filed against the Gujarat Gas Company Ltd. because there is no prima facie Competition Act violation that can be established. The Gujarat government and the Gujarat Textile Processors Association had separately accused the gas company of abusing its dominance by creating artificial scarcity of compressed natural gas and then arbitrarily raising its prices in Surat.
