Mexico’s New Antitrust Commissioner Ratified

At the proposal of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Senate of the Republic ratified by 95 votes the appointment of Ana María Reséndiz Mora as commissioner of the Federal Commission for Economic Competition (Cofece), for a period of nine years.

    Since 2016, Reséndiz Mora worked at Cofece as general coordinator of Economic Analysis.

    As general coordinator of Economic Analysis at Cofece, she was in charge of preventing, investigating and combating monopolies, monopolistic practices and concentrations, as well as other restrictions to the efficient functioning of the markets for goods and services.
